Inclusive Evaluation: Working with Disabled Peoples
Juvena will share her experience of designing and undertaking an inclusive evaluation in partnership with key stakeholders across all stages of the evaluation process. She shares lessons learnt along the way and how cross agency relationships grew and developed throughout the evaluation.
Juvena Jalal
Juvena trained as an education psychologist and has diverse education sector experience including academic (teacher education), national PLD provider, SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and Associate Principal of an integrated area school. She has worked as project lead and co-lead across a number of cross agency system and programme evaluations at TeIhuwaka – Education Evaluation Centre, ERO since 2021.
Juvena’s experience of working with disabled learners and their parents/ whānau was especially useful in informing her work on the education for disabled learners evaluation “Thriving at school”, working in partnership with Whaikaha and the Human Rights Commission.
