James Goh
James Goh is an expert in the application of artificial intelligence in evaluation and research. He is the CEO and founder of AILYZE, an AI-powered evaluation research platform used by evaluators to accelerate rigorous thematic analysis, cross-segment comparisons, and evidence synthesis at scale. He has led and advised on major international evaluation initiatives, including a UN Evaluation Group meta-synthesis using AI for large-scale qualitative coding, and USAID projects deploying AI avatar interviews in complex and fragile contexts such as Sudan and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
James actively contributes to the advancement of responsible and effective AI in evaluation practice through organisations like the American Evaluation Association and the European Evaluation Society. Most recently, he joined the UK Evaluation Society’s AI in Evaluation Steering Committee as its AI technical expert.
He holds a Master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and holds undergraduate degrees at the Wharton School and the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
